Blogging | 15 Blog Post Ideas

15 Blog Post Ideas

We all have those moments where we have writers block so if you are stuck below are some ideas that might give you some inspiration!

#1 Interview Someone - An interview is a great way to add something a little different to your blog and I love reading these type of posts to get to know people better. You could do an interview with yourself to share more with your readers or interview your fellow bloggers. My friend Stef from Scottish Stef's Nails interviewed me a while ago for her blog and it was a lot of fun.

#2 Favourites - Share your favourite's with your readers. This could be monthly, yearly or one off posts and could cover a variety of different areas. For example, although my blog focuses on beauty products from time to time I also share other favourites too such as food, books and candles.

#3 Guides/Tutorials - Love makeup or craft? Why not try writing up a guide/tutorial for your readers to follow so they can re-create it.

#4 Share your experiences - This is a wide area and could cover a whole host of different blog post ideas from experiences within the blogging world, life or more specific topics.

#5 Tags - There's always tags floating around the internet which will give you a list of questions and can be a great way to add something different to your blog.

#6 Collections - If you have an interesting collection of something such as makeup or other items you collect you can write it in a single or series of blog posts.

#7 Share your bucket list - A craze which has been around for a while is to have a bucket list which is basically just a list of things you want to do within a certain time period. I love reading these and seeing how everyone's goals in life differ.

#8 Wish Lists - These are really fun posts to create and I love reading them. My favourites are obviously fashion and beauty related but this can be applied to anything.

#9 Share your favourite bloggers/You Tubers - It's great discovering new blogs and You Tubers and I think it's so lovely when I see posts like this. Spread the word of the people you love to watch/read.

#10 Food Recipes - This one depends on the niche of your blog but if suitable maybe add some fun food related posts into the mix. These can be tutorials, recipes and simply foods you are loving at the moment.

#11 Holiday/Travel experiences - If your blog is more travel/lifestyle related why not try sharing some of your travel and holiday experiences with your readers? It's a fun way for people to learn about new places around the world and there's nothing better than word of mouth.

#12 Blogging Stories - Again, this is a wide area so you would write a whole host of posts on this one. Maybe think about what first got you into blogging? What you love about it? Tips/tricks you have learnt along the way?

#13 Start a series - I love reading series on blogs and it makes me go back time and time again. This can be anything such as 'Top 5 Lipsticks' etc the world is your oyster!

#14 Get to know you - This is similar to number 1 but instead of an interview type post with specific questions why not just tell your readers a little more about the person behind the blog?

#15 Favourite Apps - Lastly, everyone these days is either glued to a smart phone or tablet and using the thousands of apps available to us daily. Share your favourites with your readers!

I hope you found this blog post useful :)

Beauty | Spring and Summer Beauty Wish List

Spring and Summer Beauty Wish List

My Spring and Summer beauty wish list.....

I've totally given into the hype on this one after reading lots of reviews and watching endless You Tube videos. This palette looks gorgeous and perfect for Spring and Summer, particularly because I have blue eyes and these peach shades will really make them 'pop'.

I'm also a big fan of Too Faced products anyway, their Better Than Sex mascara is a favourite of mine and I also have a couple of their other eyeshadow palettes, sadly not the chocolate palette yet but that is also one I would love to add to my collection.

Keep your fingers crossed this comes back into stock soon because I'm itching to try it!

Another Too Faced product that I've been wanting to try for a while now are the Melted Metal Lipsticks. I love the range of colours that are available, especially Macaron and love all the cute names they give their products. Surprisingly, I haven't ever tried any lip products by this brand before so i'm interested to see what they are like... they look very pigmented and glossy!

It's getting to that time of year where the weather is improving and I'm in need of a little help to get that perfect golden glow so a self tan is definitely a must for my wish list. In the past I have used a lot of products by St Tropez but I fancy trying something a little different and Fake Bake is brand I've tried in salons for spray tans but never used at home before.

I'm looking for a product which gives a natural tan, provides easy application, is quick drying and streak free. From reading reviews online it looks like Fake Bake would be perfect so I definitely want to give it a try!

Every time I go into Superdrug I spot these bath and shower gels and am amazed by how unique and delicious the fragrances sound. Again, this isn't a brand I have tried before but I definitely plan to as they sound wonderful. The packaging is cute and the colours of these products really jump out at you.

I've tried a few different primers over the years but i'm yet to find one I like as much as Benefit Porefessional which I turn to over and over again. I'm really keen to find an alternative and I've found a lot of people have been positive about the Laura Mercier Primer so I would love to try it. I'm a big fan of their skin care products but I've never actually tried any of their makeup before so this will be a first for me.

I love using different blushes in my makeup routine and a favourite brand of mine is Bourjois. They have a really lovely range of colours, the formula's apply beautifully to the skin and they are a must have for any makeup bag.

Recently I've been wearing a lot of coral inspired makeup so I'd love to try this particular shade. I think it will add a lovely pop of colour to the cheeks for a simple, fresh look during Spring and Summer.

Lifestyle | Cuppanut Review

Cuppanut Tea Review

It's no secret I'm a big fan of coconut whether it's using coconut oil as a hair mask, drinking coconut water or purchasing products such as moistuisers and shampoo's with a coconut fragrance so when I heard a new brand of infusions called Cuppanut were due to be launched on the market last month I was very excited to try it.

This innovative product has been launched by International Superstar Gareth Gates, who first shot to fame in 2002 during the reality television series Pop Idol and has been following a very successful career ever since. As well as continuing to tour around the country performing at his own gigs he has taken lead roles in musical theatre including Joseph, Les Miserables, Legally Blonde and more recently Footloose (to name a few). Now the star has turned his hand to business and due to a combination of his healthy lifestyle and experimenting in his kitchen has come up with his new venture, Cuppanut.

Cuppanut Tea Review

Cuppanut infusions are bio degradable tea bags filled with real coconut which is mixed with a variety of different flavours. The first is 'Coconut' which is pure white in colour and smells delicious. The taste is slightly sweet, clean and full of flavour without being overpowering.  To make, you simply add water, no milk or sugar is needed.  Whenever I drink this one it reminds me of hot sunny days and holidays due to the tropical fragrance. Coconut is well known for it's health properties including, reducing cholesterol and protecting against heart disease and stroke so it is definitely something which is becoming more popular and people are starting to introduce it into their diets more and more.

The second flavour is 'Coconut and Cranberry' which is equally as tasty and looks beautiful too. When water is added to the tea bag it turns a pretty shade of pink (my fave yay!) and you can instantly smell this sweet, fruity mix.. it is divine. This is one of those drinks which is tempting to drink far too quickly because it smells so good and you risk burning your mouth but believe me it is worth the wait.

The final infusion is 'Coconut, Ginger and Turmeric' which has a more earthy flavour and turns the water golden. Not being a fan of ginger I was a little skeptical about this one when I first tried it but I have been won over by this unusual combination of ingredients.  This warm spiced tea has a hearty flavour which I really enjoy drinking in the evening. Ginger and Turmeric is also said to possibly have anti inflammatory properties.

The packaging of the Cuppanut infusions is simple and 'natural' looking due to the use of simple brown cardboard for the boxes. I think this no fuss packaging suits the brand perfectly as these infusions are full of natural, pure, raw goodness and no artificial colourings or caffeine. They are cute, the font is modern and they would definitely jump out at me on a shelf. When I opened them up I was also surprised to see how pretty the teabags themselves look. Each flavour has its own distinct colour and I've never seen any other 'tea' products like it.. they almost look too nice to use!

The thing I love most about these teas is not only are they good for you but they taste amazing whether you have them hot or cold (they would be great in the Summer in pretty glasses, with ice and fruit e.g cranberries). The three flavours are also so different that no matter what your mood is there is a Cuppanut for you!

Cuppanut will be appearing on your highstreet in a popular retailer soon but if you can't wait that long take a look at the Cuppanut website where you can order each box of teas online (delivery is fast). Each box contains 15 teabags and are priced at £4.20 per box. You won't be disappointed!

I very much looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for Cuppanut. It has now become my 'go to' drink.

What do you think of infused teas and which Cuppanut flavour would you most want to try?

Review | Champneys Summer Dream Rewarding Salt Scrub

Champneys Summer Dream Rewarding Salt Scrub

We are well into Spring now and if you are in the mood for some pampering then I would definitely recommend giving your skin a treat with the Champneys Summer Dream Rewarding Salt Scrub.

Not only is the baby pink packaging adorable with 'Well Earned Treat' scrolled over the lid in swirly writing but this product smells amazing. It's literally like Summer in a pot! This thick salt scrub is bursting with fruit infusions including peach, mango, orange and passion fruit with a hint of sandalwood. The result of this combination is a delicious fragrance.

To use this salt scrub scoop a generous amount into your palms and apply to the skin in circular motions, paying particular attention to more troublesome areas such as the elbows, knees and ankles which often suffer from dryness. After use rinse well with warm water and your skin is fresh, clean and ready for Summer! You will also notice a subtle hint of the scent linger on your skin for a short time after which I really like.

Exfoliation is beneficial as it keeps the skin fresh and healthy by removing dead skin cells from the surface. The process of cell regeneration is something the body also does naturally but it slows as we age so as you get older it becomes more and more important to give your skin a helping hand. Exfoliating will make your skin look less dull and help prevent an excess of oil, clogged pores, dry, rough skin, blemishes and acne because it prevents the build up of dead skin cells. This is it particularly important to do before applying fake tan as it prevents a streaky/patchy result.

I've been really impressed with this product, not only does it smell amazing but it's a good strong scrub that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin at all. I would even go as far as saying this is the best body exfoliator product I have used. Needless to say I will definitely be re-purchasing this!

If you want to try to Champneys Summer Dream Rewarding Salt Scrub you can purchase it from Boots for £10.00.

Review | Lush Beautiful Shower Gel

Lush Beautiful Shower Gel

It's been a while since a properly reviewed any products on my blog but that doesn't mean I haven't been enjoying Lush products as always. One of the most recent products I have tried is the aptly named 'Beautiful' Shower Gel and it's a good one.

'Beautiful' is a very pretty rich orange/yellow shower gel which has flecks of pretty glitter dotted throughout it. They are so fine they give that extra bit of sparkle which makes this product feel extra special without them being overpowering and leaving you looking like a disco ball (they leave no shimmer at all). Perfect for brightening up those early mornings!

The texture of this shower gel is very thick so you only need to use a little at a time to get a good lather and it smells delicious. The mixture of fresh peach juice, dried apricots and osmanthus absolute creates a sweet yet fresh and slightly floral scent which is just perfect for Spring and Summer!

My friend kindly bought me this shower gel as a gift and I'm so pleased she introduced me to it as it's lovely. It makes a nice alternative to my old favourite Snow Fairy and I would definitely repurchase it.

If you want to purchase the Lush Beautiful Shower gel it is available in Lush stores for a variety of prices depending on the price. The one I have photographed here is the medium size and is £9.75.

Lifestyle | Our Fairytale Wedding - Part 1

Kimberley and Simon's Wedding

As any regular readers of my blog or Twitter followers will be aware I got married on 19th September 2015. During the months leading up to then from time to time I posted some updates on my wedding planning progress whilst trying to reveal as little of the details as possible due to family and friends reading my blog!

Now that the wedding is over I can finally reveal all the secrets as well as a full account of the day starting with some taster pictures in this blog post!  I really hope you enjoy looking at them at taking a peak at our special day. The theme was 'fairytale' but with hints of it rather than a very intense theme and everything was very traditional. Our ceremony was in a Chapel and then we moved onto a well known castle which was absolutely beautiful. I definitely felt like a princess for the day!

Lifestyle | Life Update - I'm Back!

Life Update

Hello Everyone! It's been a while!! I just wanted to write a little blog post on a life update as things have been very quiet on the blog/you tube front over the past few months so I wanted to let you know why and what I've been up to. I definitely plan for this post to be a kick off for my return to the blogging world as believe me I have missed it a lot! At the moment I won't be going back to blogging daily though, as I just don't have time for that at the moment boooo!

Anyway, what have I been up to over the past six months? I got married on 19th September which was the most amazing day. Once the professional photo's are ready with the copyright on it from the photographer I will share them with you along with a full account of our day. From start to finish it was definitely the dream fairytale wedding we had always wanted and it was brilliant to see everything come together and run smoothly! That is one of the reasons for my lack of blogging, in the run up to the wedding I was really struggling to juggle working full time, wedding planning and blogging so unfortunately the latter had go on the back burner for a bit.

After going to the beautiful Barbados on our Honeymoon I had planned to pick things up again as normal but unfortunately I was poorly around a week after getting back and that continued into this year. It turns out I was allergic to a plug in air freshener but it took a long time to work that out! It was causing me chest pains, a constant sore throat and terrible cough so as you can imagine I really wasn't up to much!

During that time, early January to be exact I also got a promotion at work so I'm now officially a manager! I had actually been doing the role for two years already but it took a while for everything to be officially recognised so it's great that's finally happened.

That's all for today's short and sweet post but watch this space for some more over the coming weeks. To start with I plan on blogging around 2-3 times a week.

How have you all been?

Review | The World's Most Powerful Iron | PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron

Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron

Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron

Good Morning Beauties! Today's blog post is about a product I am very excited to share with you and is a must have for all those domestic Gods and Goddesses out there.

The new *PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron is said to be Philips best and most efficient steam generator iron yet and I must agree. The large solid base means it is stable and easy to set aside as a placeholder to hold the iron when you need a break from ironing. I find this particularly useful as the metal plate on our ironing board isn't particularly big and therefore more often or not an iron does not fit which makes things a bit tricky when you need to place it down. Alternatively, this iron has such advanced technology (mentioned below in more detail) you can actually comfortable leave the soleplate of this iron directly on your ironing board without causing burning which is brilliant.

When it comes to using this iron, it couldn't be more simple as not only does it come with easy instructions to follow but it is pretty intuitive though so it is quick to get started straight away. The iron itself is lightweight meaning it puts less strain on your wrist and arm and the size of the handle is perfect to grip it firmly but comfortably. Additionally, it has a safety auto off function which is a must have to me. I'm a worrier and always one of those people that will worry endlessly about leaving an appliance on whether it be the iron or my hair straigheners!

I have tried using this iron on a variety of different materials as seen in the pictures above (e.g denim, cotton, silk cashmere etc) and whatever it's up against this iron simply glides over the material removing creases effortlessly.  I also love that you don't have to worry about temperature control as this iron does all that for you. The Advanced Smart Control Processor precisely controls the soleplate providing one perfect temperature setting for all frabrics, Phillips call this OptimalTEMP technology. This is amazing technology and completely removes any anxiety people have about what setting they should use to get perfect results and prevent burning fabrics. It is also easy to tell when the iron is ready for use as the light on top changes from flashing to solid light, it takes just two minutes so is perfect for those in a rush.

The PerfectCare Elite also allows for vertical steaming which is a great added bonus and would have been extremely useful for getting out those last minute creases from all our dresses on my wedding day... if  only I had this then!

This Philips iron also comes with a variety of different settings which allows you to get the most out of your ironing whether it be 'Eco Friendly' if you are particularly conscious about our impact on the environment or 'Turbo' mode for fast ironing. It also holds a large amount of water, 1.8l to be precise so you don't have to spend too much time re-filing although this is very straightforward to do.

Don't forget to descale your iron regularly to prolong it's life, something which is super easy to do with this one thanks to the alert the iron gives you when it time for a good clean. You simply need to wait for your iron to cool and remove the water and limescale in a cup after removing the 'De-Calc' knob.

I really can't fault this product in any way and it is definitely the best iron I have ever used, even hubby is happy to get stuck in and do his share with this! It's easy to use, has great results, advanced technical and the design looks modern and sleek.

You can purchase the Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron from a variety of places including John Lewis for £319.95 or directly from Philips for £320

Lifestyle | My Autumn/Winter Candle Wish List

Autumn Winter Candle Wish List

There's nothing I like better than burning candles, particularly during a cosy evening in front of the tv.  My favourite are those that are strong scented so the whole house is filled with the fragrance and I love switching things up during different seasons. During Autumn and Winter I like spicy scents that remind me of Christmas which is a complete contrast to the light floral or fruity ones I choose during Spring and Summer. It makes a refreshing change. Here are some that are currently on my wish list:

I ordered this candle from Amazon last year and loved it. It has three wicks which helps the candle burn evenly and it smells delicious. It is sweet without being sickly and the fragrance is so strong I can smell this candle even before it has been lit. However, in the UK it is tricky to get hold of Bath and Body Works products without paying way over the odds for them so I'm hoping I'll be able to get another couple of these this year at a reasonable price.

I haven't seen this candle in the store before but it sounds lovely! It reminds me of my childhood because when I was little I used to make clove oranges with my mum and I am expecting this candle smells similar to this.

I've smelt this candle on a few occasions and although it's very strong I really like it. It definitely shouts Christmas so I imagine using this closer to Nov/Dec would be a great way to help get me into the festive mood. There's nothing more disappointing than buying a candle which smells amazing in the shop but when you burn it there's no scent at all but I don't think it will be the case with this one!

I'm a big fan of vanilla scents so when I saw this one by Jo Malone with the added element of Anise it was definitely going on my list.  Jo Malone candles are expensive so this is one I would use sparingly to make the most of it but as they are strongly scented I find they do fill the room with the gorgeous fragrance.

Last year I bought this candle and loved it. It has a subtle Winter scent and it's great to use at this time of year when you don't want anything too overpowering but something different from floral Summer scents. I also like that's it is red as it makes a change to have a coloured candle.

I'm a big fan of this brand but haven't tried the mulled wine candle before.. it sounds great! I find The White Company candles burn evenly and have a strong scent plus the jars are super cute. I tend to lean more towards white candles as they match my decor and the jars are great to use for storage. These are the kind of candles that look lovely being burnt on the side while you have guests as they are clean and simplistic.

Okay, this one isn't strictly Autumn/Winter scented, it's more on the Spring Summer side, however, I really love lavender so I've included it. This scent makes me feel relaxed and it also helps me sleep so if I burn a candle that has this fragrance and it lingers in the air after it is put out then it's perfect.

I haven't tried this combination either but I like each of the elements so I'm really interested to see how they work together.

What is on your candle wish list?
