MUA Undressed Palette vs Naked Palette Review

MUA Undressed Palette vs Naked Palette

Hello Beauty Lovers!

I did a haul post last week which included the MUA Undressed Palette and I had a lot of requests to do a review. I wouldn't usually do a review as quickly as this but I find eyeshadow is a product you can easily tell if you like or not as you don't need to wait a period of time to see the results etc.  I have used this palette every day since I bought it so I've given it a pretty good trial.  As promised here is a review on the MUA Undressed palette as well as a comparison to the original Naked palette.

The MUA palette comes in a compact, black, plastic case.  The size is really nice because it isn't bulky at all so it is perfect to pop into your handbag/makeup bag if you need to.  It also comes with a standard two ended foam brush.  I'm not a fan of these brushes so I haven't tried it, instead I have used my Sigma brushes to apply the shadows.

The selection of colours in the Undressed palette is great.  You get twelve shades which are pigmented really well (except when you swatch!).  The majority are shimmery shades but there are also two matte shades which are really nice to use for a natural day time look.  I've used them a lot in the past week.  It is disappointing that the shades don't have names, though.

I love that this palette has everything you need.. a lid colour, crease and outer colour and lastly a highlighter so you have everything in one place.  The price is also brilliant, only £4.00 at Superdrug and it is definitely worth every penny!

The MUA Undressed palette is a high quality product and can definitely be compared to the Naked palette, which is a high end eyeshadow palette priced at around the £36 mark (I purchased mine from the Debenhams website).

The Original Naked palette is very popular and is well known in the blogosphere.  This palette also comes with a brush, which although I haven't used yet I will in the future.  It is a gorgeous flat brush with soft bristles, perfect for packing colour onto your eyelids.  When I bought this palette it also came with a miniature Urban Decay Priming Potion (This product is amazing, check out my review here).

The Naked Palette also contains twelve shades.  Again, most of these are shimmery but there are two matte shades.  There is also a mirror in the lid which is always a nice touch.

As you can see from the above pictures the colour of the shadows in both of these palettes are very similar. The Naked shadows are a little more pigmented and some of the colours are slightly different but overall the MUA Undressed palette is a pretty good dupe!

As you can see from these swatches, you can easily match up the colours between the two palettes and there aren't that many major differences.  I think some people would probably struggle to even identify which swatches were from which palette.  Unfortunately, some of the colours didn't swatch very well, these were the lighter shades and also the matte shades but when you apply them to your eyes this isn't a problem at all.

The closer swatches on my finger tips really show the pigmentation of these shadows and how beautiful they are.  All of the colours from both palettes are gorgeous and very wearable for both a day time and evening look.

When combining the shadows from either of these palettes with the Urban Decay priming potion I mentioned earlier, they will stay on all day perfectly without creasing or fading.

I'm a big fan of both of these palettes and at only £4.00 the MUA palette offers unbelievable value for money and in my opinion is a great dupe for the Naked Palette.

Do you have either of these palettes? What do you think?

  1. I loved this review! It made me want to get that palette (so bummed I can't get it in Portugal and don't have a credit card to buy stuff online =X), it seems much better than the Naked palette...I've seen it around in Sephora and I just feel like it's just too expensive (at 45€ here) for what it is...

I really liked the way you wrote about the MUA palette, because you talked about the good and the bad and were extremely objective =D

    Have a great Sunday!

    1. Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it!

That's a shame :( The Mua palette is really good value for money, I was really suprised at how similar it is to the Naked palette and at a fraction of the price!

Thank you that means a lot!

Thats the only downside I would say to it but it is definitley a product worth 4 pound ! I think I will also do a review on this but you made a really good comparison (:

  12. I have the original Urban Decay Naked palette and I have to say I don't like it that much. Most of the colours are too dark for me. I do have the MUA Heaven & Earth palette which is one of my all time favourites.

  13. Great review. I have both and I lovem them. The MUA one is more handy for traveling because it's smaller and it's really a great product for the price :)

I definitely need to get myself an MUA palette, although I'm not sure if I'd choose this one - I love the look of a few! As much as I love my Naked 2 palette, I need an everyday alternative :)
