Dainty Doll Blush

Whilst surfing the net looking at what Fragrance Direct had to offer (I love that site) I came across Dainty Doll blushers.  This brand is by Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud and is primarily aimed at people who have a pale complexion, although of course these can be used by anyone.  After reading numerous positive reviews I decided to take the plunge and buy a few as they were priced very cheaply.  I'm afraid I can't remember the exact price  I paid as it was quite some time ago but if I was to hazard a guess I think they were about £1-2 each which was a massive saving seeings as they were once being sold in stores for more than £10 if I remember correctly.

Dainty Doll was originally available in Boots but I've heard it was discontinued, hence why you don't see it around any more.  You can still pick up the odd item online, though if you're interested.

The packaging is basic and slim line which makes it very easy to store however it is disappointing that the box names the shade but the product itself only has a number.  It makes it pretty confusing when trying to remember which are which.

In total I ordered four blushes, two powder and two cream which in reality are exactly the same shades just in different forms. Here's a little more about each one:

Powder: My Girl / Cream: Paper Roses

These are both pretty baby pink shades that have a soft, smooth creamy texture.  The powder blush isn't cakey or chalky so applies nicely to the skin whereas Paper Roses has a silky texture which isn't sticky or tacky.  This also blends very nicely into the skin.  Both of these shades are pigmented well and give a natural glow to the skin without being too overpowering.  I definitely think these would be suitable for people with a pale complexion as well as those that are a little darker.

Powder: You Are My Sunshine / Cream: Orange County Girl

You Are My Sunshine and Orange County Girl both look gorgeous in the pan due to their pretty pink/peach shade and gold shimmer. As with My Girl and Paper Roses, the formulation is soft and creamy so is perfect for blending, however, the pigmentation of the powder in this case is more pigmented.  Orange County Girl is pretty sheer but is buildable so you can easily get more colour if you want.  This makes this blush particularly good for those with a pale complexion and You Are My Sunshine would be better suited for a wider variety of skin tones.

Sorry for the picture heavy post but as this isn't a particularly well known brand and these products are only available online I wanted to include as many photo's as possible.

What shade is your favourite? Have you tried anything from this brand before?
