Review | Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette

Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette

Sleek is a brand that I love but hasn't got mentioned very much on my blog until this week. I'm not sure why but as soon as I realised I decided to rectify it because they have some amazing products for very reasonable prices.

Sleek is definitely one of my favourite high street brands because their colour ranges are amazing, their products are reliable and a high quality and the packaging is compact.  They have some gorgeous eyeshadow palettes available and the one I have in my collection is called Sparkle 2 which is a limited edition palette.

Sparkle 2 is a really lovely palette to add some glam to an evening look. True to the name, all of the shades either have glitter or shimmer running though them and the colours are gorgeous. Each and every one is very pigmented and the shadow's have a soft, creamy texture which makes them very easy to blend. When teamed with a primer they are Lso reasonably long wearing however that depends in how oily your eye lids are and how much you apply.

Despite this palette being gorgeous and the shades all being easy to apply I have barely used it because I'm a neutrals girl at heart so coloured eyeshadows scare me a bit. Now that I have re-discovered it I am going to make more effort to use it over the Spring and Summer and maybe I will even experiment with some of the brighter colours to see if they suit me... I'm not making any promises though!

I'm not sure if this palette is still available or not but take a look in Superdrug if you are interested in finding out.  The I-Divine palettes are stunning and also worth a look. They are priced at only £7.99 and there are seventeen different ones to choose from! I love the look of Storm!

What do you think of the Sparkle 2 Palette?

Blogging | 7 Bad Beauty Habits

Bad Beauty Habits

Everyone has some beauty habits they aren't proud of but they can have a big impact on how your make-up applies and your skin. Here are some of the main ones you should avoid:

#1 Not using enough SPF

It's starting to slowly get warmer here in the UK so it's more important than ever to make sure you use SPF on your skin to protect it from skin damage and illnesses.  You can do this by using skin care and make-up products that contain SPF and/or by regularly using sun screen. For the former, I have SPF in my moisturiser (REN V-Cense) as well as my foundation (Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua) but have also recently started using a sun screen designed to be specifically on the face. The one I use is by La Roche Posay.

#2 Not removing your make-up properly

It's really tempting after a long day or night out to get into bed without taking your make-up off or quickly give your face a wash with a wipe but you should remove it properly to stop it from clogging up your pores and transferring onto your pillow.

I try to remove my make-up with Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm each night but if I really don't feel up to it then I will use Bioderma as this removes both eye and face make-up really well. Following this I always moisturise to make sure my skin is hydrated for the following morning when I need to start the routine all over again.

#3 Skin Care

Skin Care is something I used to neglect in the past. I literally would just remove my make-up with a wipe (naughty naughty I know but we've all done it!) and that was it. I didn't moisturise, I didn't use toner, I rarely exfoliated and never used face masks either. Despite this I've been really lucky where my skin is concerned because I rarely have break outs and have never suffered with particularly oily or dry skin. It is combination but mostly normal although that does seem to depend on what is going on with the weather.

I now have a set skin care routine that I stick to every day and now I can be sure my skin is getting the moisture and nourishment it needs. Take a look at my current skin care routine by watching the video on my You Tube channel.

#4 Touching Your Face

This is a bad beauty habit I am guilty off, especially when I'm at work and it's something I really need to stop. If you keep touching your face not only does it remove your make-up but also you may be putting bacteria on your face which isn't good for combating those spots.

#5 Picking Spots

Some people just love to pick and squeeze spots (ewww) but it's really not good because it can spread them to other areas, cause infection and possibly cause scarring too so it's really important you avoid doing this!

#6 Rubbing your eyes

Rubbing your eyes is not good because not only could you irritate them and remove your make-up but the skin is very sensitive around that area so it needs to be treated with care. I have heard that rubbish your eyes can cause wrinkles too so another good reason to stop!

#7 Not Cleaning Your Make-up Brushes

Cleaning your make-up brushes is really important because the build up of product can cause spots and also possibly transfer bacteria onto your face. If your brushes also have lots of product on them your make-up won't apply as well so you need to clean them regularly whether this be a spot clean or deep clean. Here's a tutorial on how I do mine.

Review | Yves Rocher Moment de Bonheur Perfume

Yves Rocher Moment de Bonheur Perfume Review Yves Rocher Moment de Bonheur Perfume Review

I absolutely love fragrances because there are a huge variety on the market, the package can be stunning and there are so many available you can easily wear a different scent every day and evening for weeks if you wanted to (obviously depending on how big your collection is). Despite this, my perfume collection isn't as big as I would like and is definitely lacking when it comes to day time fragrances but that all changed when I got the *Yves Rocher Moment de Bonheur perfume recently.

Moment de Bonheur is housed in a beautiful solid angular glass bottle which couldn't show off the bright green fragrance better. The colour is unusual but shouts Spring and Summer and I love how unique it is. I haven't seen anything else like it on the market and it matches the scent perfectly.

This Yves Rocher perfume has the perfect mix of floral and fruity notes and is an infusion of Centifolia Rose, Grasse and a trace of apple original essence. Finally the base note of Virginia cedar gives the scent more depth and the combination of all these ingredients is delicious. The scent is easy to wear during the day or evening if you want a lighter fragrance and it is beautifully fresh, sweet and floral without being overpowering in the slightest. I love it. The staying power is pretty good too for a Eau de Toilette but if you want to wear it through the day and evening I would recommend popping some in a Travelo as naturally the strength does fade as you wear it.

If you enjoy fresh, fruity/floral fragrances that aren't overly sweet then you'll love this.  You can buy the Yves Rocher Moment de Bonheur L'eau (50ml) for £38.00 from the Yves Rocher website here and check out there other products (make-up, skin care and perfume) here. Also, check out the Baobella Boutique website as they often have daily exclusive deals.

What do you think of this fragrance? What is your perfect day time fragrance?

Fashion | Holiday Essentials

Holiday Essentials

It's coming up to that time of the year when everyone starts to think about going on holiday or the weather starting to improve. In the UK we had a lovely few days last week where it was so warm I was even able to do some sun bathing but sadly it didn't last very long and the rain has returned.

This hasn't stopped me from thinking about my holiday in July, though so this post is all about fashion holiday essentials. It isn't a complete list but definitely a good starting point and a challenge because there are so many lovely things in the shops at the moment!

River Island Light Wash Ripped Denim shorts | £25.00

Shorts are brilliant to wear on holiday because they can be worn casually during the day when you are out and about, on the beach over your bikini or blinged up in the evening.  I love denim shorts because they are the most versatile and these ones at River Island are super cute.

New Look Green Tropical Print Crepe Kimono | £19.00

I'm loving kimono's at the moment which is great because they seem to be popping up in lots of shops. They look gorgeous with a simple outfit with solid colour if they have a heavy print and instantly transform the outfit into something more interesting. I love those with a floral print and spotted this one in New Look a few days ago.. I really wish I'd bought it now!

Topshop Slim Tailored Blazer | £48.00

I'm loving blazers at the moment too because they are another staple piece which can instantly transform an outfit. They add colour and structure and finish off an outfit really well. I find them flattering too because they pinch you in at the waist and make it looks like you've put a lot more effort into your outfit than you actually have! This lemon coloured one at Topshop is such a pretty summery colour and would be perfect for a day or evening look. On holiday I'm thinking more evening because it would be too hot to wear a blazer during the day but of course that depends on where you go.

New Look Pink Roll Sleeve Plain T-Shirt | £4.99

A must have fashion holiday essential are simple t-shirts and vest tops. They can be teamed with shorts, trousers or skirts or even your bikini to stop you from burning. I love the colour of this pink one from New Look but I would take a selection of these on holiday in different colours.

Accessorize Woven Coachella Flip Flops | £15.00

If you're going on a beach holiday you definitely need to have flip flops to protect your feet from the hot sand. They are also perfect to wear around the pool or during the day when walking about because when it's hot I hate to have my feet closed in!

Accessorize Sienna Top Kaftan Top | £39.00

When chilling by the pool or on the beach a must have if a kaftan top which is quick and simple to throw over your bikini. This one at accessorize looks very pretty on and will turn your sun bathing attire into something suitable to walk around in when you go and grab a bite to eat.

Boohoo Myrtle Mould Push Up Bikini | £16.00

I've mentioned sun bathing a few times in this post (I can't get enough of it when I'm on holiday) and I have a slight addition to bikini's. When I go on holiday for a week I won't take one or two with me.. it's more like 7-8 oops and I'm loving this bright red one at Boo Hoo! It would look really great with a golden brown tan.

Kurt Geiger Carvela Klix Wedges | £75.00

I love to wear heels on holiday, especially in the evening and these nude pink ones from Kurt Geiger are great. I have these in another colour and wore them a lot last summer because they are very comfortable and easy to wear!

Miss Selfridge Petites Coral Cutout Dress | £35.00

Last but not least is this pretty coral dress by Miss Selfridge. I love coral shades at the moment and this piece would look lovely during the day or evening. The bright colour shouts Summer and I really like the style of it. I would definitely wear this out in the evening to dinner and drinks.

There are obviously a lot more fashion pieces you need to take on holiday with you but I hope you enjoyed looking at my mini list here. I love every one of these pieces and would love to add them into my collection for July!
