Haul | Lush Birthday Haul

Lush Haul
Lush Haul

Hello Beauties, how are you all? Last weekend it was my Birthday and I was lucky enough to receive some scrumptious Lush gifts from my Fiance.. he knows me too well! All except one are new products to me so I'm really looking forward to giving them a try as well as enjoy one of my all time favourite's.

The first product I opened was Snow Fairy which is a limited edition Christmas product that I love. This shower gel is bright pink and smells beautifully sweet without being too sickly or overpowering. I always know Christmas is coming up when I've got a bottle of this on the side in my bathroom and I love it!

Next were two bath melts I spotted at a Lush event a month or so ago so I was super pleased to see these. Snow Angel smells absolutely divine.. so clean, creamy and nourishing plus half of it is covered in gold glitter! What more could you possibly want?!

Next was a very pretty swirly white and pink bubble bar named Candy Mountain which also has an added touch of shimmer. It's very pretty and smells just like snow fairy which is obviously right up my street. I'm starting to lean more towards using the Lush bubble bars rather than the bath bomb lately because I love that you can get multiple uses out of them, it makes them much more economical!

Last but not least I got a couple of face masks which I forgot to photograph.. sorry! They were Brazened Honey which smells yummy and doubles up as a great exfoliator and BB Seaweed both of which are great for balancing the skin to try to banish break outs. I've been feeling pretty stressed lately so some pampering with these beauties is definitely needed!

What do you think of my Lush Birthday haul?

Review | Appleyard London Christmas Bouquets

Appleyard London Christmas Flowers
Appleyard London Christmas Flowers

Appleyard London Christmas Flowers
Appleyard London Christmas Flowers

One thing I love to have in the home are fresh flowers so I am often on the look out for some new ones to display. I like having a piece of nature inside, the smell and of course how pretty and delicate they look. I also vary the colours depending on my mood and my latest theme has been fresh white flowers because they are clean and crisp looking.

The latest bouquet I have had on display in my lounge is by Appleyard London, a company who I only recently came across but one I have been impressed with. They have some gorgeous Christmas bouquets on offer including the gorgeous one pictured here which is called Gold Leaf. It is made up of Avalanche Roses, Berries and Gold Eucalyptus which when combined make a beautiful festive display. I love the combination of colours and textures and it makes a refreshing change to more common bouquets you can get.

The flowers were delivered to my house and packaged well so they were not damaged during transportation and as soon as I opened the box I could smell the beautiful scent of the roses. When displaying the flowers I decided to to keep them tied as I wanted them to be bunched closely together which worked really well as they filled my vase perfectly. You get a really nice balance in the bouquet which look gorgeous!

As for lasting power? They stayed fresh for a week before the roses started to go a little discoloured but three weeks later the berries and eucalyptus are still going strong!

If you want to buy one of these gorgeous bouquets or check out the other flowers they have on offer take a look at the Appleyard London website here. Prices start from £29.99.

Review | The Library of Fragrance Jasmine Scent

Library of Fragrance

Over the past few months I have been in contact with the Library of Fragrance brand who have been busy developing a huge range of innovative fragrances. I have taken part in questionnaires to help them gather information for market research and the time has finally come where they have released some fragrances in stores. This is super exciting because it's been a long time in the making and the scents are simple and unique so it's very interesting to see what the reaction would be. For instance, some of the fragrances include amber, thunderstorm, gin and tonic, cherry blossom and baby powder.

The scent I have is called *Jasmine and is contained is a sleek, square glass bottle that holds 30ml of product.  I like floral scents so thought this would be a good one for me to try and I must say it is beautiful. The scent is very different from any others in my collection because it is pure jasmine rather than it being a hint amongst other ingredients but it is very light, fresh and feminine. The scent is also very strong and long lasting so one spray is plenty otherwise it may be a little overpowering to some people.

I'm excited to try more scents by Library of Fragrance!

If you want to purchase a scent from Library of Fragrance you find them at Boots for £15.00.

What do you think of this scent? Have you tried any Library of Fragrance products?

Haul | Charlotte Tilbury and Urban Decay Makeup Haul

Charlotte Tilbury and Urban Decay Haul
Charlotte Tilbury and Urban Decay Haul
Sorry for the fingerprints on the products... I didn't notice them when taking the photo's!

Hello Beauties! After having a whirlwind of a month or actually even longer than that it dawned on me I hadn't actually been shopping for over six weeks. I literally hadn't stepped foot in any shop which is totally unheard of for me so when the opportunity came up this week to do a bit of shopping with one of my closest blogging friends I definitely got the bug and made up for lost time. I didn't intentionally go out to even buy any makeup, I was actually on the look out for a Parka coat (and still am.. any recommendations?) but then we went into Debenhams and Selfridges were things soon changed.

Here's a sneaky peak at what I got:

In Debenhams we headed straight over to Urban Decay where we swatched lots of beautiful products before I decided on getting one of the eye pencils. I've actually been looking on and off at these for a long time now, it must be at least a year but couldn't decide what shade I wanted so hadn't taken the plunge. Admittedly I had the same problem this time as the range of shades is incredible but in the end I decided on Smog which is a rich medium brown which a slight shimmer. I think it will go really nicely with a whole range of eyeshadows and is definitely wearable both during the day and evening.

I'm really excited to use this product because I've heard the staying power is amazing. I'm also a little scared, though because I know if I love it as much as I think I will I'm definitely going to want to add a few more shades to my collection!

Charlotte Tilbury Blusher

Charlotte Tilbury is a relatively new brand as it's only been around for a year but it is very popular. There has definitely been countless times I've drooled over the products on either blogs or at the Selfridges stand so I'm really happy to finally own some of her products.

The first I purchased was this stunning blush in Swish and Pop. I hadn't actually looked at the blushes very often in the past, focusing more on the eyeshadow palettes which I will get to in a minute but after having a make over I fell in love with Swish and Pop.

Swish and Pop is a very pretty, easy to wear blush which is a mixture of both matte and shimmer as you swirl two beautiful shades together. The shade of pink is pale yet rich so it gives the cheeks a very natural pop of colour that will go with a variety of makeup looks.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow

Next up is a product I have had my eye on for months and is a stunning eyeshadow palette called Sophisticate. There are several palettes I would wear but I chose this one because it includes four beautiful matte shades that are all easy to wear. My eyeshadow collection is severely lacking matte eyeshadows because the ones I have aren't very blendable so I rarely use them.

When I swatched these eyeshadows they felt very soft and creamy so I can't wait to try them! They were also used as part of my makeover so I've already seen what they look like and they suit my blue eyes and complexion well.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyebrow Pencil

Last but not least I got the three way shape, lift and shade eyebrow pencil which is not a product I had ever looked at by this brand before. What sold this to me though was seeing it as part of my makeup over because the shade match was perfect. My eyebrows looked defined and shaped without looking harsh and un-natural. It's often hard to find a good brow pencil although I still really love my billion dollar brows one I'm very excited to try the Charlotte Tilbury alternative to see how it compares.

What do you think of my haul?

Event | Hilary's

Hillary's

A few weeks ago I was invited to an event in Chelsea, London which was a product launch with Hillary's, an interior design company. I'd come across this brand before and was tempted to buy some curtains but as it was all new to me I wasn't so keen on the idea of buying online, however now that I've seen the products up close I definitely would in the future.

The event was held at a hotel in Chelsea which overlooked the harbor so was the perfect setting to showcase the wonderful interiors Hillary's had in store for us. After speaking with some of the lovely PR people and sampling some of the tasty canapes on offer we moved in a separate room where all the products were laid out. There were various units set up contains sample curtains, fabrics and cushions in a range of different colours and textures which sent my mind whirling.

Admittedly I wasn't overly bothered about homeware until I bought my own place a couple of years ago but now I can't get enough of it. At the event I immediately started picturing the different rooms in my house and thinking of how the gorgeous fabrics would work within each area. The patterns were detailed but not over the top and the quality brilliant.

Once we had a chance to look around, some members of Hillary's did a short presentation about the brand and products which gave the audience even more information to take away with them. Unfortunately, I missed this part as I had tonsillitis and headed home as I wasn't feeling well at all but I've heard it was brilliant!

If you want to take a closer look at the products Hillary's have on offer take a look at their website.

Lifestyle | It's My Birthday

Birthday

Good Morning Beauties! Guess what?! Today is my Birthday and I have lots of exciting things in store. Both my Fiance and I have today off work as it is a tradition for him to arrange a day of surprises for me so no doubt in a couple of hours I will find out what they are. Tonight we also may go and see some fireworks (depending on time) before going out for a scumptious meal at a michelin star restaurant with my family.

My Birthday celebrations don't end there though.. tomorrow night I'm also celebrating with friends and there may even be some more celebrations on Sunday... this is definitely going to be an immense Birthday weekend!

Have a good day!

Monthly Round Up | Favourite October Posts

Monthly Post Round Up | October

October may have been a quieter month for me blogging wise but that doesn't mean I didn't have some favourite posts! It's been a strange one because I've found it impossible to blog during the week after work and every weekend I've had to arrange major parts of my wedding next year otherwise we would of had trouble booking what we wanted. Now that those parts are done I am confident I will get most of my weekends back and am happy to say I can get back into my daily blogging routine. I've actually really missed it and it's been lovely to spend the entire day today getting back into the swing of things and blogging all day long.. I've loved it!

Expect to see lots of new posts during the month of November (daily again) but in the meantime how about re-visiting some of my favourite ones from last month?

Last month I discovered a new brand and brow palette which is gorgeous. The palette contains five shades that are very pigmented, blend well and are long lasting so they are perfect for people who want to add a little definition without any fuss.

If you're looking for a product that travels well then this is the one for you too because the palette is compact and the shades can double up as eyeshadows.

Next was a post full of reasons why I love blogging. Kimberley's Beauty Blog is coming up to it's second birthday so this got me thinking about how it has impacted my life and pretty much taken over. What started out as a simple hobby has grown into something bigger than that as I have made some good friends, discovered some amazing products and have attended some wonderful events.

Blogging is a very big part of my life now.

I never thought I'd be interested in owning a Kindle but that all changed this year when my friends suggested I bought one for my holiday. This post talks about this in more detail.

Another brand I discovered this month was Roger and Gallet as I have been using their beautiful body and hair oil. This oil is much lighter than others I have tried such as Moroccan Oil and smells divine. I would definitely recommend it as an extra special beauty treat.

A gorgeous eyeshadow palette by Smashbox featured on my blog last month from the limited edition Santigold range. The shades are varied but pretty and I particularly like the taupe which is very wearable.

I loved writing up the post about my favourite brands as it really got me thinking about what I love and why. Before I started blogging I didn't think about this as much because I tended not to be as adventurous with trying new things but now I love it and have found some wonderful 'holy grail' products.

This post is the first of a mini series where I share my favourite brands for certain products and it was very enjoyable to write.

Of course a Lush post was going to make it into my favourite's as I can't get enough of their products. Last month I went to the Christmas product launch which is amazing as always. Lush events are one of my favourites as the PR people are so friendly, the atmosphere is always fun and the products amazing.

Last but not least was my Boujois makeup haul which included lots of sun kissed products perfect for bronzing my skin. I hadn't done a haul post for a while so it was good to be able to share lots of products with my readers in one go, especially those that were very pretty to photograph!

Event | Superdrug

Superdrug Event
Superdrug Event Superdrug Event

Hello Beauties! As you've probably seen I've been getting a little behind on blogging as the wedding has totally taken over my weekends and the hours I work are too long to allow me to blog in the evening. All that is about to change though because the wedding preparations are well under way and as most of the major things are sorted hopefully now I will go back to having a lot more free time!

Anyway, a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to attend an event with Superdrug which was amazing so I wanted to share it with you! The event was based in London and split over two huge rooms where the products were grouped by genre and displayed beautifully. The first room I entered was based on health and well being so contained products like vitamins, nutri-bars and remedies for illnesses like cold and flu. This room looked incredible and it really brought me back to nature. There were beautiful trees at the entrance and in the room where we each got to write on a leaf and place it on the tree so it slowly got bigger and bigger. The product placement was also different depending on the sections which made them really interesting to look at and I loved that one of the PR team took us around them all.

The second room looked completely different and was full of large circular structures filled with products. The walls were covered as well as the center of this room and these products were more beauty related. They included perfume, bath and skin care products as well as makeup. I spent a lot of time circulating the room and looking at each of every product and definitely discovered some new things I want to try as well as some old favourites! It was also great to see Makeup Revolution products on sale as well as a stand for Zoella beauty.

This is one of the best events I have ever been to. The product displays were fun and innovative, the PR girls friendly as always and the range of products incredible! I had a great time finding out more about them, watching the demonstration and taking part in the Superdrug swap shop (there will be a post coming up on this soon too!).

What do you think of this event?

Lifestyle | Murder Mystery Dinner Party

Murder Mystery Dinner
Murder Mystery Dinner

Last weekend was a lot of fun as I went to a murder mystery dinner party for the first time. There were six of us in total who were my Fiance and our closest friends and it was hosted at one of their houses. None of us had taken part it one before but it seemed like a lot of fun and was nice to do something a little different.

A couple of weeks before the evening we were each allocated a character by the host which included a variety of different personalities. I was Agatha Eton-Hogg who was the neice of Sir Douglas Eton-Hogg and recently engaged to Bunny Mandelson (my Fiance played this character which was very fun!). There was also a French lady named Georgette and two American people named Oscar and Sister Morticia who was a nun! We were given a brief description of our characters so we knew what type of person they were, if they had an accent what what type of outfit we needed to style as well as an introduction into the night in question which was set in 1912.

We spent the next couple of weeks preparing our outfits and of course tried to keep it as much of a secret from each other as we could so on the night it would be a total surprise.. which it was!

As you can see from the photo's everyone had lots of fun and made an effort with their costumes. Throughout the night we tried to stay in character which was hilarious and inbetween a delicious three course meal cooked by one of my bestie's we took part in three rounds of the game where we were given clues and got to quiz each other to try and find out more. At the end we each had to pick who murdered the butler and all was revealed on the tape recorder...
